Anime Twin Cities is excited to announce an opening for the position of Anime Detour Coordinator. We are seeking a passionate and organized individual to join our team and help us create memorable experiences for our attendees.

The description is as follows:

The Anime Detour Coordinator serves as the Convention Chair for Anime Detour and is responsible for organizing, managing, and overseeing all aspects of the Anime Detour convention. The Coordinator reports to the ATC Board of Directors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Convention Planning and Management:

    • Run all convention planning meetings

    • Ensure all planning meetings have scheduled dates, times, and locations

    • Ensure planning meetings attendance is tracked and reported

  • Team Coordination:

    • Defines hierarchical structure of the convention, including positions that will fill responsibilities of the chairman when they are unavailable

    • Coordinate the activity of other leadership staff

    • Ensure “on point” shifts are staffed during con operating hours

  • Communication and Collaboration:

    • Primary point of contact for the Convention venue

    • Oversee all communication to Anime Detour staff and attendees

    • Attend monthly ATC Board meetings to report planning progress

  • Financial Oversight:

    • Develop and manage the convention budget with Board approval

    • Work with the Treasurer to ensure all financial transactions are tracked appropriately

  • Attendee Experience:

    • Speak during opening and closing ceremonies

    • Ensure a welcoming and engaging experience for all attendees.

    • Address attendee concerns and resolve issues promptly.

    • Implement feedback from previous conventions to improve future events.

Qualifications include:

  • 3-5 years of convention staffing experience or equivalent professional experience.

  • Previous leadership experience.

  • Good Communication Skills:  Verbal and written.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Must be able to respond to emails in a timely fashion (24-48 hours).
