Akihabara Anime Market

2019-11-17 13:00:00 Geek Partnership Society, 1121 NE Jackson St Suite 106, Minneapolis, MN 55413, USA

Anime Twin Cities, parent organization of Anime Detour, invites you to declutter your closets and fill them back up again at this open event. Items can also be sold for cash, so don't worry if you don't have anything to trade. Stop by and see what's up for grabs! Our autumn Akihabara is a simpler version of our June event, focused more on smaller sales and swaps. There will be special door prize drawings every half hour. We will also have a concession stand with snacks, so bring some spare change and help support ATC! :) * GENERAL RULES * - Admission and general participation are FREE! Anyone is welcome to bring items for sale or trade. - Free table space is first-come, first-served. At high-traffic times, participants may be asked to limit their item displays to half of one table. - Participants are encouraged to focus on anime merchandise. Non-anime items are allowed as long as you also have anime-related items for sale or trade. - Items must be appropriate for all ages to view. Adult material is not permitted. - The swap meet portion of this event is intended for the exchange of inexpensive or used items. There is a maximum price limit of $25 per item being sold. More valuable items may be traded, but not sold. Tables in the Collector's Corner are exempt from this rule. - All items offered for sale or trade must be official, licensed merchandise. Unlicensed or handmade items are not permitted at the November Akihabara event. This rule will be strictly enforced. - Blind bags/grab bags are permitted, but are subject to inspection by event staff at any time. Grab bags cannot contain any bootleg merchandise and must be sold at a price appropriate for their contents. - Anime Twin Cities will not be involved in any transactions between participants. All sales and trades will be negotiated solely between the affected parties. ATC assumes no responsibility for any exchanges between those who choose to take part in this event. - We cannot provide change! Please break your $20s before coming to the event and be prepared to make change if you will be offering items for sale. * TABLE INFORMATION * Remember, walk-in sale/swap space is available for free as long as there are open tables. These tables are subject to the $25-per-item max price limit. If you want to guarantee yourself a space or you have special items to sell, you can request a table from one of these categories: - Reserved swap tables, $10: These are the same tables available for walk-ins, but a full one will be reserved for your use. Both swaps and sales can take place at these tables, but note there is a maximum price limit of $25 per item. - Collector's Corner tables, $25: The Collector's Corner is the only area where official merchandise priced over $25 can be sold - for example, large figures, out-of-print media, and limited-edition items valued at more than $25. These tables are limited in number and must be reserved in advance. The Collector's Corner will be located in its own room next to the main sale area. See the Akihabara web page for more information and a link to the table request form! https://animetwincities.org/akihabara Table requests will be open through November 8th. All table fees must be paid online prior to the event. All sellers will be asked to fill out an ST19 tax ID form onsite, or to certify they are exempt from needing one; see the MN state tax code. We do not submit these forms anywhere but we are required by law to collect them for our records. This event will be held at the Geek Partnership Society offices in Northeast Minneapolis, 1121 Jackson St NE. Room 107 and 106A in the Waterbury building. Enter through door C.
