Special Events
In addition to its largest event, Anime Detour, Anime Twin Cities also sponsors and hosts multiple social events and activities throughout the year. The Social Outreach Services team encourages year-round connection and friendship within the anime fan community by organizing and running these events. The SOS team aims to provide monthly social activities and various other gatherings as well as a few larger annual events.

Outpost Anime

Description:
The harsh winters of Minnesota result in a season where conventions and other large events for anime fans are few and far between. Outpost Anime provides an oasis from the cold where fans can gather, watch anime, do cosplay, participate in fun activities, and win prizes!

Cosplay Picnic
When: July
Where: Como Park
Description:
Put on your favorite costume and join other anime fans for food and games. Burgers, hot dogs, and bottled water are provided free of charge. Participants are encouraged to bring a side item to share. Team games such as Pictionary are offered for a chance to win prizes.
“Akihabara” Anime Market
When: June and November
Where: Doubletree Park Place, Geek Partnership Society
Description:
Anime Twin Cities invites you to clear out your closets and fill them back up again at our semi-annual community swap meet and yard sale. Bring your old merchandise for sale or trade, and pick up some new treasures to take home. Walk-ins are always welcome and admission is FREE! For more details, see the Akihabara page.

As time and resources permit, the SOS team organizes and hosts various other events such as:
